A Tribute to Tony Danhelka

Dear FVCA Family,

It is with both great joy and sorrow that I share with you that Tony Danhelka went home to be with Jesus at noon on April 29th. We rejoice that Tony is with Jesus and free from pain and sickness after battling pancreatic cancer for the past 18 months. For all of us who loved him, and were impacted by Tony’s warm, gracious spirit, we will miss him dearly!

In 1977, Tony and his wife, Donna, joined Champ and Verma Boutwell, and Paul and Kay Johannaber to begin the ministry of Riverwoods Christian Center which later became Fox Valley Christian Action. Tony was the first executive director of the ministry and served faithfully until his retirement in 2011. In his retirement years, Tony continued to actively support the ministry in many ways! Over the last 47 years, the ministry has touched the lives of thousands of children and families, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. We are deeply grateful for Tony’s leadership to make that possible!

Visitation will be held at Malone Funeral Home in Geneva on Thursday, May 2nd from 3-8 pm. The funeral will be held at Mission Church in Bloomingdale on Friday, May 3rd at 3 pm with a reception following. Details will also be online soon.
